Weekly Training Reports

1. TECHNICALLY

  • Serve:
    • Toss + Don’t move front feet
    • 1st extension
    • Weight transfer
    • Toss-behind
    • 2nd arch back + legs
    • Up ward brush from left to Rigth
  • Forehand:
    • Pivot + Raquet ready before step
    • Elbow separation to contact
    • Extension
    • Round finish w/ edge racquet
  • Backhand:
    • Strong early preparation
    • Shoulder under chin
    • Use hips + shoulders to bring raquet to contact
    • Strong window finish with arms away
  • Return of serve:
    • 1st:
      • Positioning baseline +side line
      • Sync leg + raquet to hit
      • Shuffle + cross step wide return
    • 2nd:
      • Side move up + front hop 

2. MOVEMENT

  • Always running + jumping.
  • Sliding on Clay.
  • Load coil + step + unload uncoil.
  • Short ball front hop.
  • Recovery with cross over step.
  • Wide ball cross + open loading outside leg.
  • Super wide ball + cross over step.
  • Move back quicker to load + transfer weight.
  • Ball at you go to the side + around.
  • Ready position WIDE + LOW (arms away of the body).
  • Running + moving always with raquet ready + locked in.

3. MENTALLY

  • Discipline on court
  • Self talk
  • Keep smiling

4. TACTICALLY

  • Consistency
  • Positioning back to forward.
  • Depth
  • Short ball

1. TECHNICALLY (5)

  1. Prepare early before taking the 1st step and when the ball is in the other side the net

  2. 2nd short ball emphasis on the 1st two explosive steps and front hop

  3. Serve: not moving the front foot

  4. Serve extending the racquet back with elbow further away from the body

  5. Return of serve timing the swing of the racquet with the step into 45 degrees diagonally to the net post

2. MOVEMENT (5)

  1. Jumping up and down before serving or returning

  2. Cross over step recovery vs shuffling feet

  3. Warm up routine from mini tennis side to side inside the service box and baseline

  4. All court forehand create spacing by getting around the ball going outside the baseline to come in inside the baseline to hit the ball (figure 8)

  5. Wide ball and super wide ball with high ball recovery using arch and topspin

3. MENTALLY (11)

  1. Match preparation  routine

4. TACTICALLY (11)

  1. Forehand angle to open the court from baseline and with 2nd return from the deuce side

  2. Forehand angle + forehand down the line

  3. Forehand angle + forehand inside out

  4. Forehand angle + backhand cross court

  5. 2nd serves to build consistency

  6. Only 1st serves power when ahead by 2 points

  7. 5 ball rally to start the point

  8. Looking for the forehand to dictate the point

  9. Forehands from the middle

  10. Forehands from the ad side.

  11. High backhand to set up forehand next shot
