  • Turn your shoulders sideways while keeping your shoulders and hips aligned and your head still. As you turn your shoulders slowly, move your racket back
  • Swing back with your shoulders and not your arm
  • The racket head should be higher than the wrist
  • Keep your elbow slightly bent and away from your body
  • Do not swing the racket too high or too low
  • Make sure your non-hitting arm is on the throat of the racket or extended toward the front
  • Turn your upper body until your shoulders are perpendicular to the net
  • Try to maintain your chin over your front shoulder at the end of the backswing
