- Prepare early.
- “Screw down” into the court, knees bent, rotating the hips and coiling the entire body.
- Pivot with their outside foot and transfer your weight into that foot.
- Get the heel of your inside foot up.
- Turn your shoulders sideways, initiating the turn with a smaller rotation of the hips.
- DO NOT take your racket back with your arms but with the pivot and the shoulder turn together as ONE unit.
- Keep both hands on the racket.
- Lead your back swing with your elbow on the take back.
- Keep your back swing in the same side of your body.
- Keep your back swing relaxed and in front of you, as you turn your body.
